Nickelodeon Wants You

unnamed

Nickelodeon has a writing program? Didja know that? And, to hear the folks over there tell it:

Our global Writing Program is one of the best in the biz. Consider the facts: alum have gone on to create their own Nickelodeon shows and write for all sorts of TV series and films. While in the Program, writers meet our series creators, work in writers’ rooms, and receive hands-on experience writing spec scripts and pitching story ideas in both live action and animated television. Basically, they write a lot and do cool things, all while being provided a salary!

This TVWriter™ minion believes the above paragraph is a hell of a good pitch, but I have this nagging feeling, see, that it isn’t really telling us anything. It did, however, lead us to this choice info:

Although we do have to say that just above those four dates are these important words: “Please note: notification dates are subject to change.”

The Writing Program sites also has some other caveats and instructions re how to apply, including submission guidelines for the writing samples upon which your admission to the program will be judged. At least, we assume that this is some kind of contest. Our suggestion is that you hie thineselves over and see for yourself. Better hurry though. For all we know, this is really about testing to see who the smartest rat in the maze is, and you know you want that Nick cheese!
