Latest News About Writers Who Are Doing Better Than We Are by munchman

  • Seamus Kevin Fahey (THE FOLLOWING) is adapting the Australian crime series JACK IRISH for Fox, with Anna Fricke (BEING HUMAN) as showrunner. (Here’s hoping this show does better than the last Australian series that Fox re-made for the USA. Anybody remember RAKE? Yeah, I thought not.)
  • Phil Lord, Rodney Rothman & Chris Miller (21 JUMP STREET movie) are rebooting the old superhero series THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO for Fox. (And if they do it exactly the way it was done before it’ll be an even bigger hit than the first time around. But will they? Can’t help wondering what amazing and probably unnecessary spin is going to be stirred into what once was el munchero’s favorite show.)
  • Jennifer Johnson (THE FOLLOWING) is leaving her gig as showrunner of the Fox drama and will be replaced by current staffers Brett Mahoney and Alex Hawley, and original showrunner/creator Kevin Williamson. (Who, it’s rumored, left the show because he had problems with a cast member. Wonder if it’s the same one Ms. Johnson had problems with. Ooh, this sounds like a cool blind gossip item, doesn’t it? But, probably, it isn’t.)
  • Martin Gero (STARGATE SG-1) is writing the pilot for NBC’s BLINDSPOT, a drama about an FBI agent who’s drawn into a conspiracy when a naked woman amnesiac is found in Times Square, covered in fresh tattoos. (I’m figuring she’s dead when she’s discovered cuz otherwise who in Times Square is even going to look at a naked, tattooed woman twice?)
