Ooh, the French actually put my name on this promo. It’s way too small for anyone to read, but still….

Yep, time is still slipping into the future. Entries in this year’s Spec Scriptacular Contest are due no later than December 1, 2014. Which, according to our obligatory working TV writer iPhone 6, is just 20 days away.

So if you’re planning on entering your spec episode of a current or recent series or an original script with potential as a TV movie, special, or even pilot, and sharing in the over $10,000 worth of prizes and entry extras (free Feedback!) that await, it’s definitely time to get that baby written, polished, and uploaded too.

Join TVWriter™ contest Winners, Finalists, and Semi-Finalists on the staffs of CHICAGO PD, CHICAGO FIRE, PERSON OF INTEREST, THE WALKING DEAD, RIZZOLI AND ISLES, GREY’S ANATOMY, ROME, NTSF:SD:SUV, KILLER WOMEN, ANIMAL PRACTICE, and THE LEFTOVERS, to name only the most recent few.

The cost is $50 per entry, with discounts for InkTip and MovieBytes members.

All the details about the SPEC SCRIPTACULAR are HERE.

Read last year’s Winning Scripts HERE.

What? You’re still here? Reading? Enough already. Take a major step into your future and WRITE!!! (Hey, a zillion and a half years ago I took my shot – and I haven’t regretted a showbiz day yet!)

Am I correct in inferring that pilot scripts are welcome for the Spec Scriptacular in addition to the People’s Pilot? Or have I read something incorrectly?

    • TVWriter™ says:

After much thought, and not a little argument, we’re looking at pilots this way: By the definition of the word “Special” they fit into the TV Movie/Screenplay/Special category. That means the competition will be a bit broader than in the People’s Pilot, but we wanted to do all we could for writers who missed the 2014 People’s Pilot deadline of June 1st. They’ve worked damn hard and deserve their shot.
