Only 1 week remains in which to enter the current PEOPLE’S PILOT
and SPEC SCRIPTACULAR writing contests sponsored by TVWriter.Com
and Manner Movie Ltd. of Hong Kong. Entries are due on or before June 1,
2012 via the online upload forms for each contest.

All of you of course know exactly what the contests are, but on the off
chance that you’ve missed our barrage of publicity (okay, so it’s really
been a kind of a dribble), here’s a quick rundown of what’s up:

The PEOPLE’S PILOT is for spec pilot scripts for original series. We
welcome supplemental material such as series proposals, but all entries
MUST include a pilot teleplay.

Your series can be any genre – drama, action, sitcom, reality, game,
lifestyle, animation, kids’ show, you name it – and can be intended for
broadcast networks, cable channels, PBS, even local stations,
regardless of country. All we ask is that your entry be written in
English so we can read it!

The SPEC SCRIPTACULAR is for spec scripts written for current or
recent TV series. Your completed teleplay can be for any existing drama,
action show, or sitcom, or for an original TV movie in any genre, and can
be intended for broadcast networks, cable channels, PBS, and local
stations in any country (as long as your spec is written in English.)

So far this year entries have been on the light side, but the last week
usually is a big one. Fewer entries mean a better chance for everyone
who enters, though, so maybe this will turn out to be a Good Thing. I’d
like it to be The Chance of a Lifetime for everyone, but, hey, that’s me.

Hope everyone who gets this email enters one of the contests because,
just between us, creating entertainment for millions of others is head and
shoulders above just watching what someone else has done. At least,
it certainly has been for me.

You too can achieve your dream, but you’ve got to HURRY!
