Online TV and Film Writing Workshop

Don’t worry. You don’t have to click because you’re already here. Read on!

TVWriter™ has revamped its Online TV and Film Writing Workshop by combining the former Fundamental and Advanced Workshops into one ongoing overall workshop in which both newbies and more experienced writers can work together to develop material for any kind of electronic production – broadcast TV, cable and satellite TV, feature films, internet series and specials…the gamut of contemporary production.

Need to know the basics of TV and film writing from start to finish – Concept to final draft? Pitching? Story structure? Teleplay and screenplay format? This is the place to learn.

Looking for a place to work on the script for your dream TV, film, internet, you-name-it project? This is the place.

Interested in writing a spec episode of a current TV or internet series to demonstrate your chops or entertain fellow fans? This is the place for that too.

The TVWriter™ Online TV and Film Writing Workshop consists of 4 weekly meetings in our Audio-Video-Text Chat Room. (No camera or mic? Don’t worry. You can just, you know, type.)

If you’re a newbie, TVWriter™’s “Beloved Leader” Larry Brody will take you through the basics with short writing assignments week by week. If you’re more experienced, you will be encouraged to write 10 pages a week for LB and your classmates to discuss with you. At your option, you can rewrite the pages for next time or forge on and do the entire rewrite later, integrating everyone’s total input.

In this workshop, newbies will be able to see new examples of good (and, perhaps, not-so-good) writing to give a better idea of what LB and the Industry expect from writers. More experienced writers will have the benefit of more and fresher perspectives of their work.

The Online Workshop is continuously recycling, with 4 weeks on, 1 week off, then 4 on again, ad infinitum – except for the usual unavoidable disasters and of course Christmas Vacation. And newbies take note: Under this system, as your skill level improves you will be invited to start submitting pages from your own scripts as soon as you’re ready, without having to change to another workshop and losing time and momentum.)

The Online Workshop meets one night a week (usually but not always Wednesday nights). The meetings start at 6:00 PM Pacific/8:00 PM Central/9:00 PM Eastern time and last about an hour and a half.

The next TVWriter™ Advanced Online Workshop starts Wednesday, June 7, 2017. The price? A mere $140, less than that of most in-person local workshops and scholarships/discounts are available.

NOTE: For those who haven’t already workshopped with Larry Brody, participation must be approved by him. Enrollment is limited to 5 students, which means we run out of room quickly – so to confirm your place – or ask about a scholarship – E-MAIL LB NOW.
